Goutama maintains an extensive inventory of water bags, load cells, water meters and ancillary equipment which can be used for lifeboat davit and gangway testing services in compliance with SOLAS requirements. Goutama can provide this equipment on a rental basis or with on-site technicians to assist with any proof-load testing requirements. We will also travel directly to your vessel or dry dock to perform your test.

Eddy Current Inspection

Newly installed cranes in manufacturing plants and other industrial facilities are required to be inspected, function tested, and proof load tested before being placed into service. This requirement is detailed in OSHA 29 CFR 1910.170. Function testing the crane at its proof load ensures that all operation features are working, most importantly the hoisting and braking functions.

Visual Inspection

The use of water bags for load testing offshore and onshore derricks is recognized as a safe, effective testing technique.
